HP Propelling Industry to 3D Production, More Than 10 Million Parts Produced on Multi Jet Fusion Technology Last Year Alone

HP Offering New Materials Subscription-Pricing to Customers to Help Accelerate Production of 3D-Printed Parts and Journey to Digital Manufacturing

Next week at one of the world’s largest industrial technology trade fairs, the Hannover Messe conference, HP Inc. will showcase new offerings, applications, and technology as it continues leading the industry toward 3D production. With its portfolio of the world’s most advanced 3D printing technology, HP is helping customers develop and produce new parts and applications, as it continues its mission to change the way the world designs and manufactures.

To help its customers accelerate their journey to digital manufacturing, HP is also now offering subscription-pricing for its 3D printing materials and other consumables in Germany. The new opt-in service allows users to pay for what they print, as they print, with a clear view of the running costs related to materials consumption.

“As businesses look to position themselves for the future by adding additive manufacturing capabilities we want to give them a variety of financial options to optimize results and quickly realize the benefits of using breakthrough Multi Jet Fusion technology,” said Emilio Juárez, 3D Printing Head of EMEA Sales, HP Inc. “With the new subscription-based model for 3D printing materials, we’re giving customers cost predictability, transparency and most importantly improved cash flow. It is an option that will enable customers to focus more on designing and printing innovative applications and less on the administrative tasks tied to purchasing and replenishing materials.”
The pay-per-use model provides cash flow alignment by delivering monthly billing based on actual builds. In addition, the service offers a variety of other advantages, particularly for small businesses, service bureaus or organizations required to assign specific costs across departments, including:
• ability to monitor usage and costs via a digital dashboard, providing critical insight on print job usage and associated costs;
• guaranteed price per successful build removing the challenges associated with variable costs and enabling businesses to quote the cost of a part with confidence and consistency on price and margin;
• providing operational efficiencies, and streamlining and simplifying administrative tasks by eliminating ordering, inventory and manual monitoring of materials consumption and cost.

Customers, such as 3Faktur, a 3D printing service bureau based in Jena, Germany, have already begun to realize benefits from the new pricing model. “The opportunity to leverage a subscription-based pricing model has been hugely beneficial for our business and has quickly lead to significantly improved budget accuracy and results,” said Markus May, CEO, 3Faktur. “We’ve been able to translate these advantages into more accurate pricing and transparency for our customers. In addition, since we’ve begun to use the program, the administrative time and cost savings we’ve experienced give us the ability to focus on what really counts: our customers.”

HP Metal Jet: World’s Most Advanced Metals 3D Printing Technology for Mass Production

Today HP announced that the Metal Jet Production Service for the 3D printing of industrial-grade metal parts is now widely available. Customers can now upload 3D design files and receive functional metal parts in large quantities. The parts are produced by HP partners GKN Powder Metallurgy and Parmatech to ensure the highest standards of engineering and production quality.

In 2018, HP further expanded its 3D printing portfolio with the introduction of HP Metal Jet, the world’s most advanced 3D printing technology for the high volume manufacturing of production-grade metal parts. Providing up to 50 times more productivity at a significantly lower cost than other 3D printing methods, HP Metal Jet is being deployed by manufacturing leaders GKN Powder Metallurgy and Parmatech for the factory production of final parts. Customers include global stalwarts Volkswagen and Wilo and innovative vertical market leaders such as Primo Medical Group and OKAY Industries.
