Doing Business in West Africa 2014: Emerging Markets Trade & Investment Forum

With many of the economies exceeding growth rates of 7%, West Africa is fast establishing itself as a key destination for trade and investment.  Nigeria was recently identified as a key MINT economy and with its vast and highly educated population, has once again become a significant investment prospect for UK companies and has set a vision to be amongst the top twenty economies in the world by 2020.

Recognising the growth potential and opportunities for UK companies trading or considering trading or investing in emerging economies, Hallmark Solicitors has organised an exciting 2-Day Event to be held 9th-10th October 2014 once again will shine the spotlight on West Africa as the fastest growing region on the African Continent and its importance to the UK economy.

Participation is particularly open to UK companies and investors from the Oil & Gas, Construction, Agricultural and Agro-processing, Security, Transport and Logistics, Renewable Energy, Healthcare and Pharmaceutical sectors who are interested in partnering with the governments present to carry out key infrastructure develop.  UK Export Finance and UKTI will be on hand providing much needed expertise and guidance on the important topics of ensuring payment and repatriations of investments.

We have confirmation of key delegates from the following West African Embassies in London including Nigeria, Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire, and Sierra Leone.  This Event is supported by UKTI, UK Export Finance and the Department for International Development (DfID). The Sri Lankan and Equatorial Guinea Embassies and many more have also confirmed their participation showing that the Event has a wide reaching appeal.

The main Forum which will take place on 9th October 2014 will comprise an investment exchange between West Africa and UK businesses, with seminars and discussions as well as a networking lunch and will be followed by a spectacular cultural evening gala & dinner (black tie or national costume).

Speaking regarding the Event, Uche Akali of Hallmark Solicitors who has been helping companies establishing in West Africa for a number years, said she is very excited to be holding another Event after the success of last year's Event on the same topic because of the new frontiers that it open up to UK businesses which enable them to realise significant returns on their investment in this part of world where there are considerable challenges to doing business but equally high rewards for the well advised.
