Diablo Technologies Appoints Jim Miller Vice President of Engineering

Semiconductor and software veteran joins Diablo Technologies

Diablo Technologies, a proven innovator in memory system interface products, today announced the appointment of Jim Miller as the company's new Vice President of Engineering. Miller brings a 25-year track record of exceptional management and operations leadership to the Diablo executive team. He reports directly to Diablo's CEO, Riccardo Badalone, and is responsible for advancing the company's Memory Channel Storage(TM) (MCS(TM)) roadmap and engineering accomplishments.

Throughout his 25-year career, Miller has been at the forefront of semiconductor and software innovations at major technology companies including Intel, Cadence Design Systems and Advanced Micro Devices. As Executive Vice President of Engineering at Cadence, a leading provider of electronic design automation (EDA) software, Miller was responsible for all EDA products. Previously, at AMD, Miller led design methodology and CAD efforts, along with the backend implementation of all system-on-chip (SoC) products. While at Intel he steered several microprocessor and chipset programs. Complementing his experience with established industry leaders, Miller also brings a history of success with startup ventures, having served as Vice President of Engineering at Silicon Spice, a VOIP innovator that was acquired by Broadcom for $1.2 billion. Most recently, he held an executive level position at Enecsys, the creator of ground-breaking micro inverter technology, which enables efficient solar energy systems. Miller has a BSEE and MSEE from Stanford University and an MBA from Santa Clara University.

"Jim brings an impressive engineering and leadership skillset to his new role at Diablo," said Riccardo Badalone, CEO and Co-Founder of Diablo Technologies. "His passion and talent for driving technical strategy and engineering execution will be instrumental as we continue to push the boundaries of our Memory Channel Storage architecture. Jim has both the vision and expertise to lead our team of highly-skilled engineers as we create new and exciting use cases for MCS in the enterprise."

"The rapidly growing needs of the enterprise storage market represent an incredible opportunity," said Miller. "Diablo Technologies has the high performance, low latency storage architecture and products to meet these needs today and the vision and technology to continue to do so in the future. I am excited to join the team and contribute to Diablo's continuing success."

Memory Channel Storage was pioneered by Diablo Technologies to create a new memory tier that allows enterprise applications to combine the persistence and density of NAND with performance levels usually associated with DRAM. Since the announcement of MCS in August of 2013, Diablo has been honored with several industry awards and listed among the most exciting storage startups by a leading independent organization. Diablo continues to partner with key enterprise customers to create new and exciting opportunities for server system designs to support use cases that require extremely fast and flexible storage. The addition of Jim Miller as Vice President of Engineering will allow Diablo to continue building the ecosystem with industry partners and advance the Memory Channel Storage platform.
