ebrary Launches Deutsche Sammlung

Company releases German-language e-book subscription database covering multiple disciplines

ebrary®, a ProQuest business, today announced a new German-language e-book subscription database for academic libraries.

The ebrary Deutsche Sammlung collection includes STM, humanities and arts disciplines - and features more than 4,500 titles from publishers such as De Gruyter, Aarhus University Press, International Monetary Fund, Ohne Verlag, Frank & Timme GmbH. The collection can be subscribed to on its own, or in conjunction with the award-winning Academic Complete(TM) collection.

"With the growing demand for digital content, we are committed to offering content in multiple languages," said Leslie Lees, vice president of content development, ebrary. "Deutsche Sammlung is another step forward in this goal and offers libraries and researchers access to a multi-disciplinary German-language collection that they can combine with Academic Complete, one of the most comprehensive scholarly collections of e-books available."

Many ebrary customers use subscription databases as affordable, high quality base collections, and then examine their usage statistics to determine where to apply additional budget in patron driven acquisition, short-term loan, and perpetual archive. This acquisition model provides libraries a flexible and cost effective way to maximize their budgets while serving the diverse needs of their researchers and students.

The company will be showcasing the new Deutsche Sammlung collection and Academic Complete, at Bibliothekartag, a leading library conference in Germany, March 11-14, 2013. Librarians, researchers and faculty may also preview the German-language database here.
