A September road show will bring WAN-IFRA's Strategies for Newsroom Transformation training programme to four German cities – Berlin (2-3 September), Hamburg (4-5 September), Munich (23-24 September), and Darmstadt (25-26 September).

Participants don't have to speak German to attend – the sessions will be conducted in English.

WAN-IFRA and the World Editors Forum have trained thousands of chief editors and other senior newsroom executives in editorial workflow and other newsroom practices through its WAN-IFRA Academy and Newsplex programmes and through tailor-made training for individual companies.

The September road show will showcase these training sessions in the heart of Europe, at a time when it is more needed than ever.

"Editors are under tremendous pressure to manage digital transformation, and an increased work load that is often accompanied by a reduction in staff," said Cherilyn Ireton, Executive Director of the World Editors Forum. "Changing work habits is a demanding task and may mean changing the editorial culture to make it work. Our training programmes are designed to help and inspire editors to identify ways to optimize the workflow, and make the best use of resources to publish in a multi-channel environment."

The September training programmes will be conducted by Jørgen la Cour-Harbo, a pioneer of modern media workflow. He develops digital tools for media and has worked for more than 30 years at NORDJYSKE Media in Denmark.

The sessions will focus on: translating strategy into daily work; the journalists' roles in a multimedia newsroom; change management and how to drive and inspire success; how to develop few media into multimedia; analysis of the workflow; keys to improving project management.
