Pandaprint looks forward to completing Heidelberg press line up

Family owned Pandaprint is investing in a new press that will return its pressroom to an all Heidelberg line up. A Speedmaster SX74-5, a B2 five-colour machine with high pile delivery will be delivered in three months' time to replace a Komori press.
The £2m turnover, 23 staff Dunfermline company made the selection only after a review of press options.

It needed a machine that could meet its continuing growth in the Scottish market, one that would give it an upgrade and improved efficiency. It made the decision ahead of the Referendum on Scottish independence, confident of its future whatever the outcome.
"This press shows our total commitment to Heidelberg. We have a Suprasetter CTP device and we will give preferential treatment to Heidelberg equipment for the litho / digital pressroom and finishing areas moving forward. We have been very happy with the Linoprint C 751 we installed.
"We use Prinect workflows and are adding Pressroom Manager and upgrading to the Prinect 15 version of Prepress Manager which launches this summer. We know that with Heidelberg you get the total package, robust and reliable products and first rate service and support. For our customers this press with Easy Control and digital workflows throughout the factory will mean they can have complete confidence in the consistency and quality of results. We will undertake a Print Colour Management exercise at the time of installation," says James Wilson, chairman of the 35 year old company.
It is also with customers in mind that Pandaprint has opted for the fifth unit which will be used primarily for coating to enable it to provide customers with the fast turnrounds they expect. Work can go from the end of the press to the postpress area and be processed without marking.
The Speedmaster SX delivers outstanding print quality, high stability in production, intuitive and ergonomic operation, and a high level of automation. There is automatic wash-up device and a static electricity eliminator on the press and a range of colour control options. The Prinect Press Center control station with the process-oriented Intellistart operator guidance system, which automatically determines and implements the optimum process sequence for job changes.
It is a machine that will help Pandaprint continue to provide its market with value for money and practical and proactive support, irrespective of the size of customer or job.
