SLPP Ltd t/a Links Labels & Tapes have recently installed their second GIDUE Press. Based in Bourne, Lincolnshire SLPP has a history dating back to 1972 through a merger and several acquisitions. The business is privately owned by Reg Rudd and David Egan and has three other directors namely Darren Warman, David Shales and Darren Dutton.
The company is a leading player in technical labels and manufactures the complete range of labels from very basic and plain to multi coloured, including Wet & Dry peel multi-layer coupons, all on numerous substrates and in various formats. Their markets include DIY, motor manufacturers, chemicals and they supply print management and other trade label companies.
Links Labels & Tapes is primarily a label printer with Flexo and Digital Presses. Significant investment over the last two years has seen installations of a replacement HP Indigo Digital Press, several finishing machines, platemaking facilities and two GIDUE Flexo presses, the M1 and the new MX2.
The GIDUE M1, purchased by Links Labels & Tapes in early 2012, is a 370 mm wide flexo press with 8 colors and a unique configuration that allows the production of creative promotional coupons in one pass whereby a self-adhesive web is divided into 3 or 5 lanes which are separated and then positioned on top of each other to produce a 5 to 9 page multi-colour coupon at high speed (up to 120 m/min.).
The recent machine installed in Bourne is the GIDUE MX2 flexo press which is also 370 mm wide with 8 colors, 2 Dies, Delam/Relam, Cold Foil and Web Cleaner. The GIDUE MX2 Press has all the top-quality components and technologies of GIDUE's upper class models. Its superb printing and register quality and speed of set up makes it the ideal choice of flexo press for all converters in the Label industry.
