Manroland executives show support for Print China 2015

The ROLAND 700 EVOLUTION and the latest-generation ROLAND 700 HiPrint were rolled out with much fanfare to an enthusiastic Chinese audience at Print China 2015. Top management from the Manroland headquarters in Germany and executives in Greater China took part in the successful launch, either online or in person, underscoring the company's commitment to the Chinese market and its importance in the printing world.

Innovation, creativity and efficiency can all be found in the sleek ROLAND 700 EVOLUTON and the new-generation ROLAND 700 HiPrint, and visitors to the Manroland exhibition booth during the six-day Print China 2015 couldn't agree more; with the Manroland theme of "One touch for the future" the icing on the cake was the number of deals sealed during the event.

Mr. Rafael Penuela, CEO, Manroland Sheetfed GmbH, greeted visitors online and vowed during the press conference to maintain the company's strong presence in the Greater China region.

Print China 2015 comes at a time of renewed growth for Manroland, according to Dr. Peter Conrady, head of Global Sales, Manroland Sheetfed GmbH. He added that the company is the only German sheetfed offset manufacturer to consistently turn in a profit since 2012. This is due to its advanced printing technologies and continuous effort to improve on its existing products, Dr. Conrady said.

The ROLAND 700 EVOLUTION is proof of this commitment, and was recently awarded the "Red Dot" Award for Production Design – considered the "Oscar" of the design industry.

Mr. Kurt Herrmann, Managing Director of Manroland Greater China, talked about the concept of "One touch" and how it relates to both the ROLAND 700 HiPrint and the printers. He said the concept relates two factors - the way of printing production in the future and how to achieve sustainable profitability.

Printing production in the future, Hermann said will rely heavily on highly automated technologies to tackle various challenges, including higher labor costs, stringent quality requirement and short lead time. As for sustaining profitability, all of the systematic components involved are designed to enhance the overall performance in the production process. A series of future-oriented innovations, such as the highly automated presses, Inline technologies, QuickChange, automatic color and quality control system, can help the printers achieve high quality, high efficiency and low cost. This is the future of printing, Hermann said.

An impressive mapping show on the first day of Print China 2015 demonstrated the capabilities and attractive qualities of this new-generation ROLAND 700 HiPrint.

Mr. James Zhang, Regional General Manager North China, Sheetfed Division and General Manager of Sheetfed solutions for Web segment, Greater China, said the new press takes the industry into the "One touch'' printing world.

Moreover, Mr. Zhang explained in detail the "One touch" innovative features of the new press:

SPL (Simultaneous Plate Loading): Blanket and impression cylinder can be washed automatically and simultaneously with the plate change. No extra time for plate changing is needed. The make-ready time is significantly reduced, increasing efficiency. Regardless of whether the press is four-color, five-color or more, the processes of washing and plate changing only take 4 minutes in total!
InlineFoiler with Indexing: Inline foil enhancement during production – with no extra steps or preparation required – can produce various dazzling print effects. What's more, it can reduce the consumption of the metal foil to a very large extent (up to 60%), further cutting production cost.
LEC UV: Installing a LEC-UV device on the delivery can speed up the job processing, and reduce energy consumption. As for the occasional UV users, LEC UV enjoys unparalleled cost advantages, such as energy conservation, low investment cost, and small space required for installation.
During the press conference, Mr. Samuel Tam, General Manager of Sheetfed and Marketing Manroland Greater China, also promised that they will work together with customers for the sustained profitability.

In addition, Dr. Frank Tietsche, Vice President of sales, manroland web system GmbH, and Mr. Wu Xinxin, chief representative in China, shared with media the current status and future development thrust of the company.
