Edale held their agent training event from 24-25th March 2019 at their Head office based in Hampshire. This event saw 15 agents from all over the globe travel to the UK to partake in two full days of product training; including presentations from Edale customers and suppliers.

Gulf Print & Pack 2019 – the MENA region’s leading trade show for the commercial and package printing sector – ended on a high note as business deals worth millions of dollars were sealed during the bi-annual event.

Establecimiento Gráfico Impresores, a major Argentinian carton packaging, paper label and commercial printing producer for over fifty years, entered the flexible packaging arena in 2015 with the purchase of two 20SIX CI flexo presses and two CL 850 laminators, all four machines from BOBST.

Graphic Promotions Inc. (GPI), based here, recently installed a fully equipped RMGT 790 press that features LED-UV curing technology. The shop has replaced two older 4-Up offset presses, while increasing their size to a 6-Up platform that runs at 16,000 SPH. Daryl Sladek, the Owner of GPI, notes that his shop started out 25 years ago as a strictly offset printer, running pieces such as brochures, letter heads and other commercial print jobs. However, in recent years, he notes, “we’ve become a lot more digitally involved. The digital end is where we’re going, and that was the reason for the new press — we are trying to be more competitive in that market.”

The first MainPads at Herold Druck in Vienna as well as at Mayer & Söhne Druck- und Mediengruppe in Aichach are now being used to manage press operations. The MainPad is the new mobile service & maintenance tablet from manroland Goss web systems (MGWS). It reduces downtime and increases convenience levels when it comes to maintenance and repairs of press equipment.

Beneco Packaging and subsidiary company, SoOpak, recently opened a second facility in Scarborough, Ontario. Once fully operational, the new facility will offer a complete design, manufacturing, and finishing production house that will eclipse another Beneco Packaging plant in Brampton, Ontario. The new facility will be home to a new Heidelberg Speedmaster CX 102-6+L with full automation and UV capabilities, a Heidelberg-MK Promatrix 106 CS diecutter and a Heidelberg-MK Diana Easy folder gluer.

Sooner or later in the life of a printing press, the time is ripe: upgrading with modern control and automation systems brings back the required production reliability and improves productivity, efficiency and product quality. DDV Druck GmbH, a company of the DDV Mediengruppe, Dresden, has therefore ordered a comprehensive QIPC-EAE Performance Package from Engineering Automation Electronics GmbH (EAE) to modernise its newspaper printing line.
