XAAR PRESENTS EXTENDED FAMILY OF PRINTHEADS TO DELIVER BIG COLOUR AT FORN&CER 2014

Xaar, the ceramics industry's leading inkjet technology specialist, will showcase the new Xaar 1002 family of printheads and present three new printheads that achieve 'Big Colour' at Forn&Cer 2014 (Booth D2, 24-27 June, Sao Paolo, Brazil).

"The ceramics industry has massively adopted digital inkjet for the tile decoration process but challenges remain in producing intense colours and special effects to increase differentiation and added-value," says Richard Barham, Sales and Marketing Director, Xaar. "Now Xaar has developed the technology to deliver even bigger advantages by achieving even higher levels of colour intensity and the volume laydown for decorative and flood glazes. All of this at the same time as keeping the incredible detail and accuracy of the Xaar 1002 GS6 and GS12. This will allow tile manufacturers to produce an even wider range of patterns and special effects as we digitalise the entire tile production process."

Over the last few years the revolutionary Xaar 1001 printhead has transformed the global ceramics industry by freeing tile manufacturers to replicate natural materials, producing highly creative and textured tiles, as well as larger and thinner tiles. Xaar's ultimate aim remains the digitalisation of the whole production process. The announcement of three new printheads delivering more volume, colour, special effects and new fluids, will enable innovative manufacturers to create a wider variety of spectacular tiles. Xaar has been working with leading industry institutions and its ink partners so that these new printheads can achieve effects and colours beyond traditional digital decoration limits.

Xaar is participating in the Aspacer seminar programme at 3pm on Thursday, 26th June. In their presentation Digital Inkjet Ceramics – Where do we go from here? Gillian Ewers and Edsel Lonza look at the next challenges for the vibrant digital ceramic tile decoration industry and explore the opportunities to add more creativity and value.

"The new Xaar 1002 GS40, Xaar 1002 SBX and Xaar 001 printheads are the result of considerable investment in R&D to enable ceramic tile producers worldwide to set new standards for design creativity and finishes. Our latest developments will be presented at Forn&Cer," says Barham.

Xaar's ceramic industry OEM partners are: Assodigit, EFI Cretaprint, Hope Ceramics Machinery, Keda, KERAjet, Meijia Ceramic Equipment, New King Time Machinery, Intesa-Sacmi, SITI B&T, TecnoFerrari and Xennia.
