Jeco Plastic Products Executive Speaks at American Energy and Manufacturing Competitiveness Partnership

Craig Carson, President and CEO of Jeco Plastic Products--designer and manufacturer of plastic pallets and containers for the worldwide printing and automotive industries since 1973--was one of the manufacturing industry speakers at the 2014 American Energy and Manufacturing Competitiveness Partnership conference in Berkeley, California.

The meeting, held April 16 at the University of California, Berkeley, was the fifth in a series of conferences to explore the roles of government and industry in maintaining US manufacturing and economic competitiveness in the 21st Century.  In his talk, Accessing Capital and Scaling Manufacturing, Carson outlined how access to university and governmental supercomputing facilities enabled a small, privately held plastics molder to compete effectively in markets around the world.  He then discussed the difficult of scaling the technological support Jeco has received into volume production for commercial quantities.

The American Energy & Manufacturing Competitiveness (AEMC) Partnership is a three-year effort by the Council on Competitiveness and the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), bringing together national leaders to address a rapidly shifting national and global energy landscape and uncovering the actions that can be taken now to enable America to build on this distinctive time in its energy history during the next five to ten years to bolster dramatically its energy, manufacturing and economic competitiveness over the next 20, 30, 40 years and beyond.
