Headlines were made when Falkland Press decided to move into B2 digital production with the HP Indigo 10000 model. Ensuring this new press operates effectively and efficiently it needs to be temperature controlled and the chiller to do that was supplied by technotrans.
"The chiller is part of the press. It's not an option; it's an essential part of the investment. We already use a lot of technotrans kit, we have met them and know their products are reliably good," says Jon Lancaster, managing director of Falkland Press. "Our HP10000 is in, the chiller is working effectively and we are creating new work and new opportunities to build alongside our strong offset production."
Peter Benton, managing director of technotrans in the UK, says: "We beta tested our chiller on the HP Indigo 10000 at Precision Printing and now Falkland Press is taking one of our units, a reflection that we are becoming a key ancillaries supplier for the digital as well as the offset market.
"Most printers have both technologies rather than one or the other so having a supplier who can provide the equipment and service and support it effectively with f-gas qualified engineers has to be a bonus. We can, and do supply, temperature control solutions for other digital technology which is vital given the increasing machine speeds and, with that, the corresponding increase in demand for cooling."
This new emphasis on comprehensive solutions will be reflected on the technotrans stand at Ipex (S5-F395). Technotrans will also be presenting the case for water cooled peripherals in the pressroom at Heidelberg's 2020 Vision event.
