Next-Generation Epson Industrial Label Printer Offers Overwhelming Speed and Productivity

PrecisionCore linehead the key to addressing industry needs

Epson (TSE: 6724) has further enhanced its lineup of label printers with the development of a next-generation benchtop industrial label printer complete with a PrecisonCore linehead. Suitable for batch printing, the new printer complements Epson's Surepress range of digital label presses, desktop color label printers and compact electronic label makers.

Epson's latest offering improves customers' work efficiency with lightning-fast color printing speeds up to 300 mm per second with uncompromising levels of quality.

Aimed at high-volume printing applications such as secondary labels and shipping/ transportation labels, the new product is designed to respond to the needs of industries that demand productivity, durability and reliability from their labels printers. Epson's new product ticks all the boxes for the increasing number of industries that are demanding color labels that provide essential information to end users and help distinguish products.

The secret behind the new product is PrecisionCore, Epson's most advanced print head technology. The heart of the technology is a next-generation print chip, based on micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) technology, which support a significant increase in the density of print nozzles. By arranging these print chips in a fixed single pass linehead, Epson is able to offer high productivity and economic output for high speed industrial printing applications. And because PrecisionCore printheads are able to place almost perfectly round ink drops with high precision, text printed with PrecisionCore printers boasts outstanding levels of edge sharpness.

"I am convinced that our latest label printer opens up new possibilities for the industry," said Akihiro Fukaishi, executive officer and chief operating officer of business systems at Epson. "This is a game changer. Customers told us they wanted speed and efficiency, but with no compromise on quality and we have provided them with just that."

Epson plans to launch the new label printer later in the year. Product availability, specifications and launch dates may vary by region. Further details will be announced by Epson sales companies.
