Domino will include the latest additions to its thermal ink jet (TIJ) G-Series range at this year's interpack, (Hall 11/Stand D55) along with new enhancements to its common platform software suite, QuickDesign.
The G-Series which offers high quality solutions for manufacturers in the life sciences, food and personal care sectors, features compact controllers, print heads and guides that facilitate simple integration into complex packaging lines and offers the highest range of connectivity options available to machinery integrators and end users.
In addition, these ranges offer full compliance with electronic signature traceability, as well as best practice and validation documentation, and are now available to the market.
Also on show will be the BK652 black ink, specially devised for the G-Series range. It features a drying time of less than half a second which, when used with the G-Series coders, is able to print high definition, machine readable traceability codes without impacting line speeds . This makes it ideal for the item-level serialisation required by global legislation devised to reduce pharmaceutical counterfeiting. Its high performance light-fastness, independently verified by the leading authority in packaging and print, also ensures the durability of the code throughout the lifespan of the product from manufacture, distribution, storage and dispensation.

interpack will also see the introduction of the latest version of QuickDesign, Domino's coding automation software suite, which works across all Domino printer technologies to provide advanced design, print control and connectivity capabilities.
The latest edition of QuickDesign (Version 5.4) enables production line printers to support mixed formatted text paragraphs, along with automatic highlighting capabilities enabling the search and identification of keywords. In addition, a new 'operator' mode will be available, providing an optimised interface for factory floor message selection and data entry, lowering human error scenarios within production coding environments.
Both features are rare in print machinery and are well-timed for manufacturers in the food, beverage and dairy sectors who will need to highlight allergens in order to comply with and avoid penalties associated with the Food Information for Consumers Regulation (EU 1169/2011) due to be enforced later this year.
