Fujifilm is welcoming visitors to its stand at Ipex 2014 (S4-E330) to show a true working production environment which emphasises the many and varied business models that are possible with inkjet technology.
Each day's 7.5 hour shift at the Fujifilm print shop will produce more than 10,000 products with an average pagination of 68 pages, showing the equivalent of over 150 make readies. Compared to a conventional B2 production environment, this sees a saving of in excess of £3,500 in start-up costs.
Each shift will also see Fujifilm produce over 60 types of labels on four different media on the Graphium digital label press. That equates to in excess of 500,000 labels each day, finished in-line with die cutting, slitting and rewinding.
Keith Dalton, managing director, Fujifilm Graphic Systems UK, comments: "At Ipex 2014, we're providing real evidence of the competitive advantages guaranteed by our inkjet presses. Our Jet Press 720 B2 sheet-fed press is working daily producing 114 four colour make readies, saving 456 plate changes. The intense production schedule proves the economic and business benefits of using Fujifilm's inkjet products."
He continues: "We are thrilled by the amazing performance that our inkjet presses are delivering at Ipex, especially when you consider that the print shop was built in just five days. Short run calendars, brochures, magazines, books, labels, manuals and posters with run lengths from 10 to 5000, are just a few examples of what we're producing each and every day on the stand."
Keith adds: "At Ipex, our Jet Press 540W is also demonstrating its capability to deliver challenging and on demand jobs thanks to the partnership we have with the editorial team of UK magazine PrintWeek to produce 5000 copies of the IpexDaily publication." He explains: "Each afternoon, print-ready PDFs delivered from the PrintWeek team are uploaded first to Fujifilm's XMF Remote and then to XMF Workflow, which sends the ripped files to our Jet Press 540W. Printed reels are then transferred to the nearline Horizon StichLiner 6000 for finishing."
