Ricoh rounds out eDiscovery offering with Managed Review Services

Company employs best practices from information identification through document production for quick and affordable results

Ricoh Americas Corporation today announced it will offer Managed Review Services, reinforcing the company's eDiscovery services for law firms and corporate counsel seeking to outsource the entire process to a single, highly qualified vendor.

Managed review is the initial review of information, both paper and electronic, that is relevant to pending litigation. With Ricoh's new Managed Review Services, clients can now come to Ricoh for this and all of their eDiscovery needs rather than introducing potential complications, delays, errors and unnecessary costs by hiring multiple vendors.

Ricoh announced the new service today at LegalTech® New York 2014, the premier conference and trade show for technology in the legal community, where it is exhibiting in Booth # 224/226.

"With attorney review consuming such a large portion of litigation budgets, we've carefully developed a service based on best practices in document management and staffing to help meet our clients' demanding standards," said Bob Brock, Vice President, Legal and Managed Services, Ricoh Americas Corporation. "Our Managed Review Services help unify eDiscovery, from identification to production, helping make it quick and cost-effective for our clients."

Ricoh Managed Review Services include:

-- A single point of support. Ricoh's project management team coordinates

the project workflow from data capture, data reduction and processing

through the managed review.

-- Secure review locations. Ricoh provides multiple urban locations across

the United States that include all necessary equipment, software

training, data security, screening, contract attorneys, review managers

and staff oversight.

-- Experienced Relativity® Premium Partners. Ricoh blends just-in-time

attorney staffing with its review platforms offering and expert

consulting to improve first level review results. To reduce time and

cost of review, Ricoh employs predictive coding options (clustering,

email threading, assisted review) and enhances the Relativity interface

to improve metadata tagging and information security.

A key partnership

Ricoh is partnering with Hudson Legal, an acknowledged leader in first level review, to provide the service. The award-winning company offers fully screened contract attorneys, locations around the country, expert project managers, efficient review centers and comprehensive productivity tracking.

Ricoh Managed Review Services are especially agile and flexible. For example, Ricoh orchestrated an emergency project over Thanksgiving weekend last year to respond to an organization's data breach. The project team reviewed and coded more than 70,000 documents containing personally identifying and private health information on clients, employees and donors. The project was successfully and accurately completed in time for notification of affected parties within aggressive HIPAA Omnibus and IRS reporting windows.

"In any situation, emergency or not, Ricoh, in partnership with Hudson Legal, can provide a quick and cost-effective first level review either separately or as part of a full eDiscovery service offering," said Brock. "We look forward to continuing to deliver to this high standard."

Ricoh is one of the largest providers of legal document services in the country, providing a full suite of services for law firms and corporate counsel. Customers include the majority of the AmLaw 200 and NLJ 250 firms, and the legal departments of many Fortune 1000 companies.
