Australia is first past the post in international race for AEG wide-format distributorships

DGS adds AEG's UV-curable Voyager printers to its portfolio

Leading Australian wide-format specialist distributor Digital Graphics Solutions (DGS) is the first to sign up as an overseas channel partner for AEG's wide-format inkjet products, which until now were only available in the United Kingdom. The agreement was formed immediately after the recent AEG Voyager Conference hosted in the UK and attended by potential distribution partners from all parts of the world.

As a strong representative of wide-format printers, consumables and accessories, DGS's reputation in Australia is based on its deep knowledge and experience of print technologies and their use across a broad range of applications. The addition of AEG's wide-format printers, inks and media products to its portfolio is testimony to the company's policy only to offer customers the very best products.

"Our visit to the event gave us a deeper understanding of the company's vision, and included discussions about the opportunities in the Australian market," states Peter de Maagd, Managing Director of DGS. "The AEG Voyager Pro did not disappoint and we knew straight away that this product range is capable of delivering exactly what is expected of this powerful brand. Seeing the AEG Voyager Pro in action, we were impressed by the exceptional engineering, top class build criteria and high quality prints it was producing."

The dealer conference offered interested channel partners the opportunity to discuss every aspect of the AEG Voyager family of printers as well as the ability to spend time with technical representatives and to have a thorough inspection of the AEG Voyager Pro in action. Unveiled after a day of presentations covering all aspects of the technology employed in the machine, the 2.05m UV-curable printer was closely inspected by business owners and their engineers to make sure that every aspect of its form and function was as described and in line with their highest expectations.

The consensus at the dealer event was clear, with the new AEG wide-format printers satisfying the strong market requirement for a well-built, high-performing and yet sensibly priced, combination roll-to-roll and flatbed platform. The strong, ergonomic construction, Xaar 1002 printheads and metallic option are all bolstered by true modularity to address a broad spectrum of ink and colour requirements. Launched in the UK earlier in 2014, the AEG Voyager printers are now ready for mainland European and international channels.

"Our first event for potential global distribution partners held here in the UK was a resounding success and demonstrated that there is a real and universal appetite for reliable, high quality and versatile wide-format printers such as the AEG Voyagers," comments Karim Ladhu, CEO of Image Technology – the company responsible for all AEG professional printing equipment and supplies. "That DGS is the first past the winning post in terms of our international distribution agreements carries a slight irony, as this display and graphics' specialist had the furthest distance to travel to attend the event. Even more so, it demonstrates our trust in DGS and its confidence in us and our products."

DGS's de Maagd views the opportunity to work with Image Technology and the AEG  brand as a privilege. "We're very excited at the prospect of being the company's first export customer," he continues. "We are poised to build consumer confidence in an established brand that has a mature range of products which we believe are ready for market."

Based in Wollongong, New South Wales, DGS has more than two decades of high-level experience selling and servicing digital printing and cutting equipment. Offering advanced levels of expertise that include service and support, the company specialises in wide-format UV-curable, solvent-based  and dye sublimation systems, direct-to-garment and textile solutions, sign-making cutters and a broad selection of software and consumables.

The AEG Voyager and Voyager Pro UV-curable series of combination wide-format systems offers robust roll-to-roll and flat-bed throughput, with versatility in its ink options to make them easily configurable according to user requirements. The base ink-set of CMYK can be enhanced with light cyan and light magenta, plus channels for white, metallic and clear varnish. Orange, green, violet and red can also be incorporated for those needing to broaden the achievable colour gamut to meet their work-flow requirements. Both printer models are fully field-upgradeable, and modifications to enhance original ink-sets or increase the number of installed ink channels can be performed at the customer site for convenience, with minimal down-time during change-over.

Founded more than 125 years ago in Germany, AEG is synonymous with high quality products and world-class engineering. The brand has long generated support globally and possesses a superlative background in concept, manufacture and service. Customers can therefore be confident that the Voyager and Voyager Pro wide-format UV-curable printers and related products within the digital print segment have all been developed to be 'perfekt in form und funktion' – in keeping with the time-honoured philosophy of the AEG brand.
