AB Print Group becomes the latest company to invest in the Acuity LED 1600

Yorkshire printing company can now offer full in-house service after installing the Acuity LED 1600

Fujifilm today announces that Yorkshire-based AB Print Group has become the latest company to invest in an Acuity LED 1600, which will enable it to keep ahead of customer demands and meet all print requirements in-house without the need for outsourcing.

Says James Kemp, Print Manager at AB Print Group: “We are a full service print production company and the new Acuity LED 1600 is a very welcome addition to our portfolio. It is an outstanding printer for fine art, detailed and delicate work, and very cost-effective for low volume runs, which gives us the capability to print the highest quality print on demand and profitably.”

Kemp cites the speed of the Acuity LED 1600 as another key feature saying, “We deal with hundreds of client accounts across multiple sectors, so the Acuity’s speed and flexibility has been invaluable as it can quickly produce a diverse range of products on a wide range of substrates. Low run, high quality labels have been especially successful as have applications that require printing with the white ink option. We’ve even started printing our own business cards on them and these have made quite an impression.”

With significant investments in technology and machinery made over recent years AB Print Group Ltd provides an extensive range of printing services – from litho and screen printing to large format and small format digital print – under the one roof. The company also specialises in coatings for the printing trade including latexing (Scratch cards), UV varnishing, remoist gumming and Scratch n‘ Sniff Inks as well as offering laminating, CAD cutting, die cutting and fold & stitching to the trade.

The Acuity LED 1600 is a large format hybrid UV printer designed to give exceptional print results in the most environmentally friendly way. The Acuity’s unique hybrid design allows it to easily and quickly convert from roll to rigid media. This, combined with Fujifilm’s Uvijet ink, printheads and curing system ensures smooth, high speed and near-photographic print on a diverse range of substrates including PET film, PETG, self-adhesive vinyl and conventional PVC, stock paper, board and even lightweight aluminium.

Mr Kemp concludes: “We did consider products from other manufacturers when we went out in the market looking for a new UV wide format machine, but it was the combination of the Acuity’s advanced technology and Fujifilm’s great service that swayed us in favour of this machine.

“We have been investing in Inca Spyders, sold to us and supported by Fujifilm, since 2004, so have considerable experience in printing with UV ink and of Fujifilm’s service and support. Our investment in the Acuity LED 1600 has once again confirmed our faith in Fujifilm and its products.”
