It's Last Call for Tom Frecska Student Printing Competition Entries

Educators have just three weeks to submit their students' best work for evaluation

The deadline to enter the Academy of Screen and Digital Printing Technologies' Tom Frecska Student Printing Competition is fast approaching. To date, submissions have arrived from all corners of the globe — Colombia to Australia, and Germany, too! Highly sought after by graphic arts students, the Academy awards honor superior imaging work within a variety of categories. Entrants represent secondary (high school and vocational) students and post-secondary (technical school, college or university) students. All entries must be received by July 31.

Instructors who hold an active educational membership with SGIA are invited to submit samples printed by students during the 2013–2014 school year, within a variety of categories:

Banners
Decals/Pressure Sensitive
Glass/Mirrors, Flat
Finished Garments (Light)
Metal Signs/Products, and many more

All entries will be judged, and displayed in the Golden Image Gallery at the 2014 SGIA Expo (Las Vegas, October 22–24), where they will be eligible to receive a Certificate of Merit or an Award of Excellence. Two exceptional entries (one from each division, secondary and post-secondary) will be chosen from the Award of Excellence winners, and honored with Best of Show, and a cash prize of $500 to use toward their graphic arts education. Instructors will also receive $500 to use toward their school's graphic arts educational program.

This unique opportunity — one where Academy experts evaluate students' best projects, and provide inroads to future employers — is not one to miss.
