Winners of the WAN-IFRA's Asian Media Awards 2019 announced in Singapore.

The winners of the WAN-IFRA's Asian Media Awards were announced on May 8, during the Publish Asia/Newsroom Summit Asia 2019 conferences in Singapore. WAN-IFRA's Media Awards provide news publishers with regular showcases in the region. This year, South China Morning Post makes clean sweep of Newspaper Infographics category; Singapore media companies take top three spots for Best News Photo.


South China Morning Post Publishers Ltd took home six awards at the 18th Asian Media Awards, half of them for the top three spots in the Newspaper Infographics category. The other wins were for Newspaper Overall Design (Gold award) and Newspaper Breaking News (Silver and Bronze).
Singapore Press Holdings Ltd was the next biggest winner, clinching five trophies for Best News Photography (Gold and Silver), Newspaper Overall Design (Bronze), Feature Photography (Bronze) and Sports Photography (Bronze) categories.
Jagran Prakashan Ltd picked up four awards, winning two Golds and two Silvers across the Newspaper Marketing and Community Service categories.
First-time winner Infographics Lab 203 nailed a Gold and Bronze for Magazine Infographics.
Recipients received their trophies at the Asian Media Awards Dinner, which took place during WAN-IFRA’s Publish Asia/Newsroom Summit Asia 2019 conferences. The awards ceremony took place at the Singapore Flyer, overlooking scenic views of Marina Bay.
This year’s competition attracted 350 entries from 55 media companies in 16 countries all over Asia and the Middle East competing for excellence in editorial content, design, infographics, photography, printing quality, newspaper marketing and community service.
During Publish Asia/Newsroom Summit Asia, some 40 speakers from 14 countries will share their best practices at this three-day event with conference sessions and masterclasses designed for senior management, executives and editorial staff in the publishing and media industries. Hear from internationally-acclaimed speakers such as Juan Seňor, President of Innovation Media Consulting Group and Raju Narisetti, Professor of Professional Practice at Columbia University and former CEO of Gizmodo Media Group, ex-SVP of Strategy at News Corp, former Washington Post Managing Editor, past Editor of the Wall Street Journal Europe and founder of Mint.
