SHIMA SEIKI MFG., LTD. of Wakayama, Japan will exhibit at the Première Vision show in Paris. It will once again participate in the "Knitwear Solutions" category for the flatbed knit sector as sole machine technologist, following its successful par- ticipation in past editions of Knitwear Solutions, including the inaugural edition two years ago.
On display will be an updated version of SHIMA SEIKI's "SDS-ONE APEX3" 3D design system demonstrating its compre- hensive support of the entire process of knitwear production from planning and design to production and sales promo- tion, as well as its capability for Virtual Sampling. Ultra-realistic simulation capability allows Virtual Sampling to minimize the costly time- and resource-consuming sample-making process while enhancing presentation quality. 3D simulation allows evaluation of knitwear from all angles. 3D modeling, 3D mapping and 3D fitting simulation of multiple coordinate items are possible as well. APEX3 also supports design and simulation in a variety of other industries such as circular knit- ting, pile knitting, weaving and printing.
SHIMA SEIKI will also exhibit knitwear produced on its latest line of computerized knitting machines, including revolution- ary WHOLEGARMENT® knitwear that features superior fit, comfort and draping characteristics. Brand new proposals in tex- tiles will also be presented through samples knitted on SHIMA SEIKI's new SRY machine that is capable of producing unique hybrid knit fabrics that cross-over into the realm of wovens.
