Seaway Invests in Heidelberg Technology to Solve Customers’ Supply Chain Challenges

Seaway, a world-class printer of specialty and bound products based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, is delivering its fastest turnaround times for customers to date by adding the Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106-8P, with LED UV drying, to its printing technology capabilities. From that humble beginning, The Papers has evolved into a diverse combination of newspaper, magazine publications, and commercial printing now run by Arch’s son Ron Baumgartner who joined the company in 1966.

The online print shop SAXOPRINT based in Dresden has recorded double-digit sales growth in recent years, and last year generated sales of over EUR 100 million in the area of commercial online printing as part of the CEWE Group. Its product range has undergone a significant change in this time. Standard commercial printed matter such as flyers, posters, catalogs, and brochures are still the main focus and account for 80 percent of its business, however packaging and finishing represent a large growth market. “Our business model is based on cost leadership,” explains Managing Director Klaus Sauer. “We use special algorithms to bundle the orders received via the web shop into gang runs and distribute them to the respective machines.

HB Label Print Installs First Mark Andy LED-UV Press in Ireland

Third flexo press installed since establishment in 2002

Dublin-based HB Label Print is the first narrow web converter in Ireland (and the UK) to install a Mark Andy press with LED-UV curing. The new eight-color P4 Performance Series press is the third Mark Andy purchased by the company since it was established in 2002 and is the first 13” (330mm) at the plant – the two existing Mark Andy 2200 lines both have the 10” (254mm) web width.
