AMERICAN VANADIUM ANNOUNCES UL CERTIFICATION OF CELLCUBE ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS

AMERICAN VANADIUM CORP. ("American Vanadium" or the "Company") (TSX.V: AVC) (OTCQX: AVCVF), the North American Master Sales Agent for GILDEMEISTER energy solutions' CellCube vanadium flow energy storage systems, announced that the CellCube has received Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 508A certification. The UL mark is the single most accepted product accreditation in the United States and is generally a pre-requisite for permitting and insurance.

"Our customers rely on us for proven and safe products and achieving UL certification is the highest industry validation of the quality and reliability of our CellCube energy storage systems," stated Bill Radvak, President & CEO of American Vanadium. "This UL certification is one of the important criteria in the permitting of new technologies for use in buildings and thus is a major step forward in our upcoming installation at the headquarters of the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority at 2 Broadway in Manhattan. With what we believe is the first UL certification of a flow battery, we are now able to singly pursue much of the behind-the-meter market which requires certification for permitting, insurance and finance."

Underwriters Laboratories was established in 1894, and is the world's largest non-profit product safety certification organization, with global name recognition and acceptance. Products intended to be used in the workplace must be listed by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) such as Underwriters Laboratories which are accredited by the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
