KBA Names Flex Essentials, Inc. As New Canadian Sales Agent for Flexotecnica

KBA North America announces that Flex Essentials, Inc. is its new sales agent for the Flexotecnica line of CI Flexo presses in the Canadian market. Headed up by industry veteran, Jim Waslowski, Flex Essentials, Inc. is a leading manufacturers' representative for several companies offering equipment and supplies to the flexographic market with extensive experience in flexible packaging.

KBA North America assumed the distributorship for the Flexotecnica presses on January 1, shortly after the acquisition of that company by the KBA Group. The new subsidiary, KBA-Flexotecnica, is an Italian press manufacturer specializing in presses for printing on film, paperboard and other substrates in the growing market for flexible packaging.


Heidelberg secures £9m of business at 20/20 Vision

Heidelberg secured £9m of orders at its two day 20/20 Vision open house last week. This included five press orders.

Jim Todd, sales director, says: "The open house attracted 450 printers and there was a real buzz about the showroom. The tours were well attended and seminars resulted in some interesting discussions. There is a great deal more confidence in the printing market and several capital investment projects are now moving ahead. In addition to the machine sales there was strong interest in the Saphira consumables products and support services, including training and consultancy."

New York State Bar Association first to benefit from Colter & Peterson - Komori America Corporation alliance

The in-plant shop at the New York State Bar Association is the first operation to take advantage of the strategic sales partnership between Colter & Peterson and the KomoriKare program of Komori America Corporation. Founded in 1876 and the largest voluntary state bar association in the nation, NYSBA completed installation of a custom built C&P Saber® 37.4" paper cutter on February 10, in addition to a Prism® automatic stack lift system.

First Open House of 2014: Nordic Day at KBA in Radebeul

Printers from Scandinavia met at the Nordic Day at KBA in Radebeul. Shown here product manager Anja Hagedorn presents the Rapida 75The open-house season 2014 kicked off on 13 March with a KBA Nordic Day event at the plant in Radebeul. Printers and potential customers from Sweden and Finland were invited to find out more about the latest developments regarding medium and large-format Rapidas.

The day began with a presentation on the latest innovations and trends in sheetfed offset. The visiting Scandinavian printers were treated to a series of print demos starting with HR-UV on a Rapida 75.

REVO Team drives Digital Flexo Revolution

REVO is a Project Team which collects 7 industry Leaders cooperating to drive flexography towards the new "digital" world of Printing and Converting. Process consistency, efficiency and cost reduction are the objectives of REVO Digital Flexo Revolution, to win the Labels and Packaging challenge for short runs, global quality and total flexibility.

The REVO Project Team members have started to cooperate in December 2013, officially announcing the project in February 2014.

KBA Asia Pacific wins customers' interest in workflow solutions

Integrated workflow solutions are becoming increasingly more popular in printing firms in Southeast Asia, too. This was seen at the joint workflow seminar from KBA and Optimus in Singapore Successful start to new cooperation with Optimus

Following the recent announcement of KBA's partnership with Optimus for the worldwide sales and distribution of their management information systems (MIS), this new collaboration has already started to bear fruit in Singapore. A local printing house will be implementing the Optimus Dash MIS in the near future.

Edale's growth continues

UK based manufactures of printing presses and converting equipment, Edale, can announce their official expansion into the final unit at their head office based in Hampshire.

This new expansion will result in an additional 20,000 Sq. ft being added to the already sizable factory, taking the total space to 50,000 Sq. ft, allowing Edale to increase production ensuring alignment with current and future growth plans.
