FINAT, Europe's international industry association for self-adhesive labels, is active in promoting the achievements of its members, many of whom are label converters, through its annual label competition, whose winning entries go forward for judging in the prestigious World Label Awards. Conference agenda published for Label Summit Latin America 2014

The conference program for Label Summit Latin America 2014 is now available as registration opens for its 11th edition. The continent's largest dedicated event, Label Summit Latin America has led the way in professional and commercial development for over a decade and will be held for the first time in Colombia at the InterContinental Hotel in Medellín, between 14-15 May.

Consisting of 17 sessions, the two-day conference program will explore various topics surrounding industry trends, prepress, printing and finishing technologies and brand development, product design and positioning. Don Nolan, president, materials group, Avery Dennison will deliver the keynote presentation. His industry overview will take a look at new developments in printing and consider how technological developments offer future growth opportunities.

Label Summit Africa 2014 successfully closes in Cape Town

Label Summit Africa 2014 closed in Cape Town last week as 279 senior delegates came together to discuss local and global issues, hear about applying new technologies and find new ways to develop business strategies with access to industry experts and real life case studies. Held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) between 10-11 March, the two-day conference and table-top exhibition is South Africa's largest dedicated label industry event.

FINAT Congress 2014 Programme now Available 'The Battle for Shelf Appeal'

FINAT, the international association for the self-adhesive labels and related products introduces the programme of its upcoming congress. The congress will take place in hotel Le Méridien Beach Plaza in Monte Carlo, Monaco from 5 - 7 June 2014 and will carry the theme: 'The Battle for Shelf Appeal - Winning Strategies for the Label Industry.'

Label Summit Indonesia 2014 moves to June

Tarsus Group, organizer of the Labelexpo Global Series, has announced that the date for Label Summit Indonesia 2014 has changed from 27-28 May to 18-19 June. It will still take place at Balai Kartini in Jakarta. The change has been made in consultation with the local industry to maximize attendance at the event.

FINAT launches call for candidates for inaugural FINAT recycling awards competition

FINAT, the international association for the self-adhesive labelling industry, announces the first FINAT Recycling Awards Competition. Label converters and end-users who have their paper and/or filmic release liners recycled by dedicated programmes are invited to apply for this new award.

A growing number of sustainable and economically-viable recycling programmes offer companies site-specific solutions for the collection and recycling of used release liners, allowing them to reduce both their carbon footprint and land filling costs.

Avery Dennison has signed on as gold sponsor of this year's Label Summit Latin America which is being held in Colombia for the first time between 14-15 May. L9 Announces 2013 L9 World Label Award Winners

The L9 associations are pleased to announce the results of the 2013 L9 World Label Awards competition judged by an international jury during Labelexpo in Brussels in September 2013. The L9 is the alliance of global label associations, formulating policies and strategic information in connection with global matters affecting the worldwide label industry.

The new class structure introduced in 2012 was implemented again with no changes to the 22 classes covering all the main printing processes and markets. The results are listed in class order with the winners announced first followed by the Honourable Mention (HM) awards.
