XYZprinting Announces Availability Of New PLA Filaments And Refillable ABS Filament Cartridges

XYZprinting's da Vinci 1.0 AiO 3D Printer Also Named 2015 SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards Finalist

XYZprinting the manufacturer of the world's most affordable consumer-grade 3D printers, today announced the availability of new PLA filaments and refillable ABS filament cartridges for its devices, ensuring more sustainable materials offerings for its users.

XYZprinting will now offer PLA filaments, which provide users with a biodegradable option in 3D printing materials. The first filament colors to debut are Nature and Clear Yellow, and will be available for purchase on Amazon. Seven more colors will be released throughout 2015, including green, tangerine, red, purple, blue, white and black.

The company's ABS filament cartridges can now also be refilled, allowing 3D printer operators to minimize environmental impact and save money on purchasing new cartridges in the process.

The XYZprinting filament cartridge has been designed to be easily replaced, and da Vinci 3D printers will notify users when filament is running low. Users can refill cartridges in a few easy steps. Cartridges are available now through Amazon for $27.99, with each filament refill costing $24.99.

XYZ is focused on driving innovation and consumer accessibility in the 3D printing market. Its da Vinci 1.0 and Nobel 1.0 3D printers were selected for CES Editors' Choice Awards for two successive years running, and it was just announced that its da Vinci 1.0 AiO (all-in-one) 3D printer, was selected as a finalist in the Innovative 3DIY category of the 2015 SXSW Interactive Innovation awards. One of 14 entirely new categories, The Innovative 3-DIY category recognizes the industry leaders making 3D printing technology more accessible, and is awarded to a company producing more affordable personal 3D printers, or to the Maker using such technology in new and exciting ways. Winners will be announced at the 18th annual SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards on March 17, 2015, in Austin, Texas.

"It has been a year since we introduced our award-winning da Vinci 1.0 3D printer to the market, and the adoption, usage and recognition we've seen of our various models is phenomenal," said Simon Shen, CEO of XYZprinting. "Our goal has been to drive innovation and mass adoption of 3D printing, and we've never strayed from that path. The recognition of the da Vinci AiO 3D printer-plus-scanner as a SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards finalist validates this, and we're honored to be recognized," continued Shen.
