Nanomix Inc., (Nanomix), a leading nanotechnology company focused on the development of mobile diagnostic tests to enable earlier and more accurate testing in hospital and pre-hospital settings, today announced the appointment of Dr. Tom Richards as a Senior Advisor. Dr. Richards brings a wealth of healthcare and financial executive experience to Nanomix as the company drives towards the commercial launch of its first product.
Dr. Richards has more than 20 years of professional experience in healthcare and finance with expertise in commercialization of early stage technologies. He received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and is Board-Certified in Emergency Medicine, with a clinical focus on critical care, cardiac emergencies and sepsis. Prior to joining Nanomix as Senior Advisor, Dr. Richards was President and CEO of TessArae, a firm that designed genetic tests for the reproductive health and infectious disease markets. He has previously served as an academic physician on the clinical faculty of Stanford University and most recently as an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at UCSF. Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Richards began his career as an investment banker in the mergers and acquisitions groups of several firms in New York, including Lazard Freres, UBS and SG Cowen.
