This new Gen2 reader distinguishes itself on a variety of levels. Its power and improved antenna design provide superior speed, efficiency and range with regard to tag acquisition and eliminate the issue of non-targeted reads caused by backplane RF signal. The reader also features an ergonomic and modular design with backward and forward compatible programmability, which significantly broadens its applicability.

Michael Vasquez, Executive Vice President of Operations for VerdaSee said, "Our new 1 watt UHF Gen2 RFID reader offers a unique combination of capabilities that have never been available in a single product before. To fully leverage those capabilities, we designed a simple and consistent software interface. By taking this approach, the process integration of the product into VerdaSee's existing software suite has been rapid and clear."

Reuben Vasquez, VerdaSee's President and CEO, added, "By teaming with Trimble to successfully combine the ThingMagic M6e's compact footprint, multi-port feature and ability to operate in all regulatory environments with an industry-leading handheld unit , we've created a new, powerful, multi-region, ruggedized mobile device that fills an important product gap in both the military and commercial markets. In fact, this project represents an excellent example of the Department of Defense's commitment to technological advancements that offer collateral commercial benefits. The Telemedicine & Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC) a unit of the United States Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (MRMC) made this project possible by funding a majority of the development under a Small Business Innovation Research grant (SBIR), and for that, we are deeply grateful."

The integration of the various leading-edge technologies provided by VerdaSee, Trimble's ThingMagic Division and Impinj in the creation of this product is a testimony to the strong cooperation between the companies in their desire to provide the market with a highly intuitive, ruggedized, yet flexible Gen2 solution designed to address the needs of the mobile workers in any environment.

"Proven performance and time to market advantages make RFID modules an ideal choice for adding RFID technology to next generation productivity applications," said Tom Grant, general manager of Trimble's ThingMagic Division. "We're very pleased with VerdaSee's selection of the M6e module and anticipate that its integration with one of the industry's leading handheld devices will deliver unique benefits to customers, allowing them to realize better business results."

"We're pleased to contribute our Indy RFID reader chip to VerdaSee's innovative new mobile reader via ThingMagic's tiny, high-performance, reader module," said Scot Stelter, senior director of product marketing at Impinj. "We believe that by extending current limits on performance and flexibility these products will lead UHF Gen2 RFID into many new applications."

Each new product and application extends the company's industry-leading offerings: VITAL-Suite™ (in the fields of first response, healthcare, humanitarian relief and the military) and VerdaC-Suite™ (commercial applications).
