H.B. Fuller Named finalist for 15th Annual Tekne Awards

MHTA to honor Minnesota's top technology companies and individuals

H.B. Fuller (NYSE: FUL) announced today that the Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) has named the company as a finalist in the Advanced Manufacturing category for the 2014 Tekne Awards, which will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Thursday, Nov. 13. The Tekne Awards honor Minnesota companies and individuals who have shown superior technology innovation and leadership.

H.B. Fuller received this recognition for its Flextra Fast™ adhesive technology, which is helping to bring food to table faster for families around the world. Developed at the company's global headquarters in Vadnais Heights, Minn., this innovation was developed in response to the speed, safety and performance requirements of the flexible packaging industry. The process of making a flexible pouch for food involves several steps, all of which depend on the reliability of the laminating adhesive. Flextra Fast™ adhesive technology was made possible by careful raw material selection and polymer design, leading to a product that has rapid cure speed and eliminates the need for multiple adhesives due to its high performance.

"We are thrilled to be recognized by the MHTA as an innovation leader in Minnesota," said Hassan Rmaile, chief technology and innovation officer, H.B. Fuller. "By working together to discover, develop and deliver innovative solutions to day-to-day challenges, our technology team is helping H.B. Fuller connect today's great ideas to tomorrow's advancements in everything from consumer goods packaging and baby diapers to water and air filtration, automotive manufacturing and electronics."

Presented by the MHTA, the Tekne Awards annually recognize Minnesota's best and brightest technology users and developers in innovation, development, education, commercialization and management.

"The Tekne Awards recognize those whose leadership and dedication to technological development helps demonstrate Minnesota as a global leader in technology," said Rmaile. "This year's finalists should be extremely proud of their role in advancing the science and technology sector in Minnesota."

Recipients of the 2014 Tekne Awards will be announced at the award ceremony on November 13. The event will begin with a VIP reception at 4:30 p.m., followed by general registration and reception at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., and the awards ceremony at 7 p.m. The event will be emceed by Paul Douglas, author, entrepreneur and meteorologist.
