SGP Partnership In Action at RadTech 2014

The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) will be at located at exhibitor booth 115 during RadTech 2014, May 12-14 in Chicago, IL. RadTech is the world's largest event dedicated to the educational, technical and scientific advancement of ultraviolet (UV) and electron beam (EB) technologies. Attendees will include manufacturers, users and potential users of UV/EB technology.

SGP Certification criteria encourages printers and their suppliers to increase

sustainability-driven best practices by reducing their environmental impact throughout

their business operations. SGP will be in action at RadTech to help educate the UV/EB

industry on the needs of printers, and their print buying brand clients, as they become

more consciences of more sustainable choices when procuring and using

inks/solvents/chemicals.

Doreen Monteleone, SGP Board Member and Principal of D2 Advisory Group, serves as

sustainability representative for both RadTech and the Flexographic Technical

Association (FTA). She notes that, "Adoption of UV/EB technology has been steadily

increasing with 30% of wide web and more than 85% narrow web flexo printers using

these ink systems. I anticipate this to continue to grow as the technology continues to

evolve."

Besides representing SGP at the exhibit, Doreen will also be participating in a conference

special session "Sustainability in the Printing Supply Chain", at 10am Tuesday. "UV/EB

has potential to help the printing industry become more sustainable and SGP's presence

at RadTech 2014 will serve to educate manufacturers on those opportunities and help get

the conversation started," she adds.

SGP recognizes the use of UV and EB technology in the graphic arts industry has been

steadily increasing as it may provide a more sustainable operation for many types of

printers. By helping to foster relationships between printers and UV/EB suppliers, SGP

aspires to help advance a global sustainability-driven supply chain, which all end-use, big

brand clients and their print buyers are seeking
