The Future is Digital Printing onto Textiles

By presenting sublimation inks and the new ink package based on disperse dyes, Marabu illustrated the benefits of digital printing onto textiles at TV TecStyle Visions 2014.

At TV TecStyle Visions 2014 in Stuttgart, Marabu presented inkjet solutions which allow a brilliant play of colours and designs on a wide variety of fabrics. The presentation focused on the water-based sublimation inks of the TexaJet-series for transfer and hybrid printing as well as the new formulation for direct printing. Another highlight was the new package of disperse inks for digital printing directly onto polyester.

Sublimation inks for sophisticated textile designs

With the versatile TexaJet ink series Marabu displayed a complete package of water-based sublimation inks for different printing applications. Whether it is transfer, hybrid, or direct printing, the result is always convincing: Appealing textile designs in brilliant colours. The hybrid sublimation ink TexaJet DX-SHE is suitable for traditional transfer printing as well as for direct printing onto pre-treated polyester fabrics. Its full colour brilliance can be achieved on machines with Epson DX4 and DX5 print heads. Especially for transfer printing and optimized for Epson DX6 and DX7 print heads, Marabu has developed TexaJet DX-STE, which is ideal for printing on very thin paper. The new TexaJet DI-7047 for exclusively direct printing complemented Marabu's proven TexaJet ink series.

New disperse inks – Excellent light fastness

At Stuttgart, Marabu introduced a new ink package based on disperse dyes, which is perfectly suitable for digital printing directly onto polyester. The package contains specific formulations for industrial print heads of Kyocera, Ricoh, and Seiko. The wide variety of applications includes flags, umbrellas, home textiles, and apparel. Besides to highest washing-resistance and a wide colour gamut, disperse inks offer excellent light fastness which allows perfect results even after long-time use.

Direct printing onto textiles

In addition, the certified pad printing ink Tampatex TPX was presented at the booth of the Siebdruck-Partner. Tampatex TPX enables to print size specifications, washing instructions or logos directly onto textiles, so that annoying sew-in labels are no longer necessary. Label-free direct printing onto textiles not only increases the wearing comfort, but it is also resource-saving and cost-effective.
