Corrosorber® Paper - Tarnish Inhibiting Packaging Powered by Nano-VpCI®!

Cortec Corporation® presents a high-tech paper powered by Nano-VpCI® - Corrosorber®. This non-toxic, tarnish inhibiting packaging paper is devised specifically for precious metals such as silver, tin and gold plated metals. It helps protect these metals from tarnishing that destroys their value. One side of the paper is chemically treated with a special coating that scavenges or seeks out H2S gas. When a significant amount of H2S gas has been absorbed by the paper, the paper will change color from light green to brown.

The other side has a VpCI® layer that acts as a tarnish inhibitor that will protect precious metals for up to two years or until the opposite side of the paper has significantly changed color from light green to brown. The coating vaporizes reaching all metal surfaces to provide complete tarnish inhibition.

With many tarnish preventing substances there is a need to remove after use, but with Corrosorber® VpCI® Paper there is none needed. This unique paper will in no way affect further processing of the precious metal or affect physical properties such as conductivity or surface resistivity. Rest assured, knowing that your valuable precious metals will have the same exact appearance, with no detrimental effects on the packaged components.

Corrosorber® can be used for single or multiple item packaging and protection of products for storage and shipment in a wide variety of ways. Simply wrap your metals and fold edges together so there is no free airflow.

Corrosorber® contains hydrogen sulfide scavanger and saturation indicator which effectively protect against aggressive environments including humidity, SO2, H2S, and galvanic corrosion from dissimilar metals. Metals protected are: silver, copper, nickel, chrome, brass, tin and gold plated metals, aluminum or iron alloys.

This environmentally safe paper does not contain any nitrites, phosphates, silicones, amines or other heavy metals.

Corrosorber® conforms to: ASTM D-1748 (Humidity chamber test) for silver and copper; Hydrogen sulfide test (test methodCC-008-1) and is REACH and RoHS compliant
