Final Hobbit Movie Commands Massive International DOOH

As befits the final instalment in Peter Jackson's Middle Earth saga, the Warner Bros. release of "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" was supported by a major international DOOH campaign.

This final segment of the Hobbit Trilogy, which opened internationally in December, brings to an epic conclusion the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield, and the Company of Dwarves. Having unwittingly unleashed a deadly force into the world, the races of Dwarves, Elves and Men must decide: unite or be destroyed. Bilbo finds himself fighting for his life, and the lives of his friends, as the future of Middle-earth hangs in the balance.

To promote the global release, extensive DOOH activity ran in over 20 countries including Lebanon, Belgium, Luxembourg, Turkey, Italy, Croatia, Mexico, China, and the UK & Ireland. To account for multiple languages and the many different digital out of home formats, Grand Visual produced over 100 versions of the creative, featuring animated artwork, clips from the movie, release information, and the Twitter hashtag #OneLastTime.

After last November's huge DOOH campaign for "Interstellar", the scale of the Hobbit campaign indicates just how important digital out of home has become in promoting major film releases.
