Spandex hails The Print Show as the ‘perfect platform’ after confirming attendance

Plans to use event to showcase its solutions to a wide range of visitors

Spandex has become the latest major printing technology and media supplier to sign up to exhibit at The Print Show, with Leon Watson, UK general manager at the supplier, describing the event as the ‘prefect platform’ to showcase its range of solutions.

“A multi-national heavyweight with one of the most expansive wide-format print technology portfolios on the market—including the likes of HP, SwissQPrint, Roland DG, and Epson—is a real feather in our cap,” says Chris Davies, event director for The Print Show.

Spandex has not exhibited at a UK event since it began selling technology from a host of leading manufacturers, with The Print Show offering members of the UK the perfect opportunity to see what the firm has on offer.

“We have not exhibited at a show in the UK since we started selling SwissQprint, HP, Orafol, and Roland, for example,” Watson said. He adds: “These industry-leading brands, coupled with our existing brand portfolio, which includes Avery Dennison, 3M, Arlon, ImagePerfect, Epson, Rollsroller among others, put us in a strong position to serve commercial printers, graphics producers and sign-makers.”

Watson continues: “Our strength lies in not only offering all these brands but also in being able to supply next day delivery on almost all our materials supported by a highly trained sales team that provides product and application advice and guidance.

“As the exclusive SwissQprint distributor in the UK, we will be taking their latest UV flatbed offering to the show. The Print Show will be the perfect platform to demonstrate the performance and capabilities of the SwissQprint printers, that has already seen sales into litho printers, repro houses, photographic and retail and display companies.”

Although the event is still more than 150 days away, Spandex has already begun mapping out its plan of action for The Print Show, with Watson explaining that the firm is keen to show how its solutions can help those already established as wide-format print specialists, as well as those considering expansion into this growth market.

Due to take place from October 11th to 13th at the NEC in Birmingham, organisers of The Print Show have pledged to build on the success of the inaugural event last year by bringing in exciting new exhibitors, as well as secure the return of key brands that were in attendance last year.

“We have high expectations for the event,” Watson said, adding: “We want to show everyone how the SwissQprint flatbed systems would benefit printers and graphics producers. In addition, we want to expand our brand further into the print industry based on our extensive hardware and media offering, coupled with great customer service.

“Visitors should expect to see the latest equipment and materials from a wide range of brands. As well as SwissQprint, we will also be demonstrating various equipment from HP, Epson, Roland and RollsRoller. In addition, we will be headlining our latest range of wrapping films, wall coverings and décor films.”

The Print Show’s Davies was also openly optimistic about what Spandex will bring to the event, and in particular highlighted the supplier’s ability to support a whole range of companies—representatives of which will be in attendance at the show.

Davies said: “When we came up with the idea for The Print Show over two years ago, it was always our goal to create an event that catered for print companies of all kinds and was a solid reflection of the UK commercial print industry’s supply chain.

“Other industry exhibitions tend to focus on niche areas of the market, whereas The Print Show features technology, media, and services that are truly reflective of what a printer needs to remain profitable and grow. Our clarity of message and focus also really help to deliver the right kind of visitor, which was so clearly demonstrated in 2015. This continuing strategy is highlighted by Spandex’ decision to exhibit.”
