Local Restaurant Receives $20,000 Business Makeover

Local restaurant The Coop, located at 157 3rd Ave. South, received a $20,000 small business makeover from the River Heights Chamber of Commerce, which included new visual commutations from FASTSIGNS® of Inver Grove Heights.

"With the economic downturn over the past few years, we wanted to be able to help out a local business and we know a lot of our members could offer support," said Nicole Bengtson, communications manager at the River Heights Chamber of Commerce.

Nine local businesses were nominated to receive the business makeover and rallied support and online votes from the community. The winner was selected by a panel of judges who took into the consideration online voting entries; The Coop was selected as the winner. As part of the makeover, FASTSIGNS of Inver Grove Heights provided the restaurant with new menu boards and window graphics.

Joel Hanson, General Manager of The Coop, told Insight 7 that since the makeover their catering business has skyrocketed.

"We love staying involved and being a part of this great community," said Brian MacKenzie, owner of FASTSIGNS of Inver Grove Heights. "We were honored to provide The Coop with new signage to refresh the look and feel of the beloved local establishment."
