Adobe today announced the availability of Acrobat Reader's integration with Dropbox on iPhone and iPad. Users will be able to download or update the Acrobat Reader mobile app on iPhone and iPad to take advantage of the new integration with Dropbox. Dropbox has also updated its iOS app, so users can enjoy the same benefits of Acrobat Reader starting from the Dropbox app. This comes a month after Adobe announced a partnership with Dropbox, focused on simplifying the way people and organizations work together with documents across the web, desktops and, importantly, mobile devices.
Adobe had started delivering on the partnership immediately by first rolling out integration of Acrobat DC and Acrobat Reader desktop apps.
Jon Perera, Vice President of Product Management, Adobe Document Cloud, said in a blog announcing the latest integration, "It's part of Adobe's larger mission to modernize how people get work done with documents across devices; that includes a commitment to ongoing innovation in Acrobat and Acrobat Reader. The goal of the first file sync and share partnership was all about helping the audience at large, to be more productive and providing the means to work the way you want with PDF documents at home, in the office and on-the-go."
Run, Don't Walk
After updating or installing Acrobat Reader, iOS users can simply choose to add their Dropbox Basic, Pro or Dropbox for Business account. Once that connection is made, they will have access to all the files stored in their Dropbox account, directly from Acrobat Reader.
After adding their Dropbox account, they can browse and access all of their Dropbox files in Acrobat Reader.
On the Dropbox side, once they update or install the Dropbox app, users will be prompted to do more with their PDF documents. With a tap, they can then launch Acrobat Reader from Dropbox to view and take action on files. When previewing PDF files in the Dropbox iOS app, they can launch Acrobat Reader with a single tap to take common actions on documents.
Edit, Sync, Share, and Collaborate
Once the setup is complete, all users need to do is to jump in and start putting the integration to work.
They can electronically sign, highlight, annotate, or add comments to PDF files in Acrobat Reader mobile, and their changes will be automatically saved back to Dropbox. It's then simple to share the updated documents with their friends or colleagues using a Dropbox link or shared folder. And they can count on the fact that files will always be synced in Dropbox, whether they remain on an iPhone or iPad, access them from the web, or are sitting in front of their computers. They can use Acrobat Reader mobile to take actions on PDF files, then automatically save back to Dropbox to share and collaborate further.

With over 18 billion PDF files stored in Dropbox, the Adobe and Dropbox teams want to ensure that it as quick and easy as possible for you to access documents, regardless of the device.
