Robert Peglar of Micron to Give Keynote Talk at the 2016 Storage Visions Conference

The Storage Visions Conference, January 4 & 5, 2016 at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas, is pleased to announce a keynote talk by Robert Peglar from Micron. The conference theme is: Storage for the Next 5,000 Years (inspired by the Egyptian motifs at the Luxor Hotel).

Rob Peglar, Vice President of Advanced Storage at Micron Technology, Inc. will give a keynote titled: Always Where you Need it: New Approaches to Traditional Device Memory and Storage. The talk abstract follows:

This talk will discuss the architectural aspects of using non-volatile memory to support both existing applications and to enable new applications. The best way to reduce bottlenecks in processing is to re-architect the relationship between persistent data and processors, and thereby enable workloads and applications, which were previously out-of-scope in terms of the time and expense required.

"We are honored to have Rob Peglar give a keynote talk focusing on the changing landscape in solid state memory and storage and the convergence of memory and processing," said Tom Coughlin, chair of the 2016 Storage Visions Conference. He continued, "We plan to have a special session on the topic of the convergence of memory and computing following Rob's keynote to provide a significant focus on this important trend that will transform the design of enterprise, client and consumer electronic products."

The deadline for Storage Visions Visionary awards submissions is November 14, 2015.
