SuperD To Introduce Full Portfolio of Glasses-Free 3D Solutions at 2015 CES

SuperD Technology Co. Ltd. (SuperD) today unveiled its exciting new line of glasses-free 3D solutions in Las Vegas at CES 2015. SuperD showcased tablet-based, glasses-free 3D solutions on multiple operating systems, a stand-alone, glasses-free 3D display accessory concept, and glasses-free 3D gaming machines. Together with partner InFocus, SuperD also announced that it will power two new glasses-free 3D mobile smartphones which will launch in China in Q1.

Full Range of SuperD Glasses-Free 3D Solutions Will Be Showcased
With more than 10 years of robust R&D under its belt, SuperD has developed tablet-based glasses-free 3D mobile solutions that can be run on multiple operating systems. The 8-inch and 10-inch glasses-free 3D tablet samples are equipped with glasses-free 3D solutions exclusively invented by SuperD which integrates 3D display panel, eye-tracking technology and 3D dynamic image adjusting technology and operate on Android and Windows operating systems. The products deliver mind-blowing 3D visual effects and bring forth the perfect experience by providing an improved viewing field of 40 degrees in all directions.

The glasses-free 3D display accessory concept is a brand-new wireless entertainment product that features an innovative foldable, portable design that can be connected with mobile devices via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It can be controlled by mobile phones and can display 3D video, run 3D games or operate 3D Apps. The product is equipped with SuperD's eye-tracking and 3D dynamic image adjusting technologies, which creates realistic 3D visual effects through reflected images on a transflective screen.

In addition to the various tablet based 3D solutions and the glasses-free 3D display accessory concept, SuperD also unveiled a large scale glasses-free 3D car racing game machine with a 32-inch display screen at 3840x2160 resolution, and a 3D console with a 15-inch display screen at 2800x1620 resolution, based on the same transflective 3D image display principle. SuperD glasses-free 3D display solutions provide users with an improved viewing field, realistic 3D visual effects and a comfortable viewing experience. All products meet high definition, dynamic display requirements from gaming products, which may open potential markets and adoption by the gaming industry.

Commercializing Glasses-free 3D technology with InFocus and Snail Mobile
In related news, SuperD and InFocus released the M550 3D mobile phone – a collaboration between the two companies. The InFocus M550 3D contains a 1.7GHz Octa-core CPU, 5.5-inch FHD screen, front double speakers, Dual SIM Dual Standby, 5 telecom modes 12 frequencies, supports TDD-LTE and FDD-LTE settings. The M550 offers a more realistic and seamless 3D viewing experience without 3D glasses and because of SuperD's eye-tracking technology, the 3D visual effects remain intact even if the consumer is on the move.

SuperD will also collaborate with leading Chinese game developer Snail Mobile to produce the Snail W 3D gaming smartphone. With a contour design for handheld gamers, the Snail W 3D smartphone incorporates a dual-joystick and multi-button design, with 2.2GH Octa-Core, 5.5-inch FHD screen, and SuperD glasses-free 3D mobile solution. Game players are able to enjoy realistic and seamless 3D experience without 3D glasses at anytime everywhere.

According to InFocus and Snail Mobile, the official launch of the M550 3D glasses-free 3D mobile phone and Snail W 3D gaming smartphone is tentatively set for the first quarter of 2015 in Greater China.

Jim Chabin, President of International 3D & Advanced Imaging Society (I3DS) also visited SuperD and experienced the samples. He said, "SuperD mobile solutions received our '3D Mobile Product of the Year' award in last Sept. Our industry is keenly interested in finding superb mobile 3D screen technology for 3D content.
