Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today announced the appointment of Mr. Zhiqiang Xu as President of Huawei Device USA. In this role, Mr. Xu will be based in the company's Plano, Texas, headquarters and have operational responsibility and provide strategic oversight for the consumer business group.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Xu served as President of both Device Global Key Accounts and the Central Eastern Europe and Nordic Region Device Business Unit, directing all Device business for some of the world's largest telecom service providers including Vodafone, Telefonica, Deutsche Telekom, and French Telecom. With his successful leadership, Mr. Xu also assumed management of the consumer business' Global Product Solution Sales department where he was responsible for all go-to-market strategies.
Mr. Xu has been a key player in Huawei's explosive international growth since 1998, having held positions in Latin America, Europe and China. Prior to joining Huawei, Mr. Xu led a distinguished career at the forefront of fiber-optic sales and engineering in China. He holds multiple degrees from the University of Electronics Science and Technology in Chengdu, China.
This appointment will strengthen Huawei's business as the company expands its recognition as a leading global brand.
