Many customers start using PolyTC® as a touch sensor. It thus replaces ITO-based solutions due to its high flexibility, the improved electrical signal characteristics and the variable integration options by laminating or injection molding.
PolyIC had already been able to show that single-layer sensors with multi-touch characteristics can be offered based on the PolyTC® film. This means that for x and y positioning only one layer (film) instead of two layers is possible.
With our intensive development efforts, we could further improve the product characteristics:
The 2 nd generation of PolyTC® has improved optical characteristics, e.g., transparency values of >85% (up to now 85% max.) and haze values of <1.5% for typical designs. The underlying resolution could be optimized to <= 8μm (up to now 10μm).
PolyIC will provide this technology as of now for all new products.
