ANUFOOD Eurasia: positive resonance at new foodstuffs trade fair in Istanbul

  • Group participations from Germany, Greece, Iran and the Netherlands
  • Preparation seminar in November for German companies with an interest in exporting

In the forthcoming early summer, Istanbul will become the showground for a new international foodstuffs trade fair: the first ANUFOOD Eurasia takes place from 14 to 16 May 2015 in the modern grounds of the Tu?yap Fair and Congress Centre in Istanbul. The joint project from Reed Tu?yap and the Koelnmesse offers access to one of the world's largest sales markets for foodstuffs and drinks in Turkey, in the bordering countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (GUS), in South East Europe and in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA). The fact that the time and place for a new event with the power of Anuga, the global experience of the Koelnmesse and the competence of Reed Tu?yap has been correctly chosen is confirmed by the positive resonance of the exhibitors. Numerous countries have announced official group participations, including Germany, Greece, Iran and the Netherlands. Placement discussions are currently being held with the organisers an d interested individual companies. The supporting programme will be set out with the focus on the communication of trends and export know-how. A preparation seminar will take place in Cologne on 18 November 2014 for German and Austrian companies that are planning to enter into the market in Turkey. Under the title "Entering the market in Turkey - from import regulations to shelf presentation", experts will comprehensively present legal and logistical themes as well as trading and customs matters.

There are three participation possibilities for companies interested in exhibiting.
With a specialist in German-Turkish trade relations, DTFood offers counter participation that represents an uncomplicated alternative in addition to individual presentation.

Furthermore, the German Export Association for Food and Agriproducts GEFA e.V. immediately knew that they would be ofering their members a German pavilion at ANUFOOD. Holger Hu?bner, Head of the Berlin office, said on this matter: "German exports to Turkey have risen by 76.3 % in the last five years (2008 to 2013) from EUR 228.4 million to EUR 402.7 million. This means that the Turkish foodstuffs market is a very attractive growth market in the medium term. By 2020, the comparatively very young population is expected to have grown to 90 million residents, with continued increase in purchasing power accompanied by further urbanisation. Thus the interest in foreign foodstuffs will continue to grow. Hence there are very good reasons to organise a German communal participation at ANUFOOD Eurasia, which is jointly organised by the Koelnmesse."
This assessment is also shared by other interested parties, not least because Turkey itself plays an important role as the central trading hub for the entire region. As a vibrant metropolis with an excellent infrastructure, two international airports and its unique geographical position on the Bosphorus, Istanbul itself is the ideal starting platform for companies that want to develop new target markets. Simplified immigration and visa conditions are particularly attractive for visitors from the adjacent GUS and MENA regions, and the Balkan states.

Even before the end of the Early Bird period, stand reservations and registrations have been made that amount to more than 50 % of the space allocated to the first event.

ANUFOOD Eurasia covers all segments of foodstuffs production; from meat, dairy, chilled and fresh foods, drinks and hot beverages, fine foods, health foods and organic produce, bread and bakery produce, confectionery, snacks, frozen foods and halal products as well as a full range of service and retail technologies.

The supporting programme for ANUFOOD Eurasia will concentrate on the communication of export know-how and will provide companies with fundamental information relating to importation regulations and trading structures in the target markets. In addition, the theme of trends will be dealt with in respect to the current demands and nutritional habits in Turkey and its neighbouring countries. To achieve this, the event organisers are working together with the market research institute Innova Market Insights.

Interested companies will be able to take advantage of early booking conditions until 31 October 2014.
