Faerch Plast wins prize for strategic CSR work

Faerch Plast's prioritisation of work with social responsibility has been rewarded. FSR - danske revisorer (association of Danish accountants) has awarded the plastics company the SMV Award, the award for the best CSR report issued by a small or medium-sizes company.

A strategic and concrete approach to working with social responsibility helped Faerch Plast win the SMV Award for the best CSR report by a small and medium-sized company - awarded by FSR - danske revisorer (association of Danish accountants).

"The panel of judges has selected Faerch Plast as the winner. They are winners because of their structure and for giving a clear account of their CSR journey, and the plastics company's five new concrete and strategic focus areas within CSR. The report is their first independent CSR report. It is very inspiring and we look forward to seeing the fruits of their labour in reports in the coming years," says Birgitte Mogensen, chairwoman of FSR - danske revisorer's CSR committee.

The award was presented to Faerch Plast by FSR- danske revisorer CEO, Charlotte Jepsen, at the end of the conference "Value-creating CSR - excellent leadership, practice and reporting", which the Danish Chamber of Commerce, the Danish Business Authority and FSR-danske revisorer held at the stock exchange in Copenhagen.

Focus on business and society
The FSR - danske revisorer's CSR committee are responsible for the CSR awards and this year is the awards' 20th anniversary, an event marked by the participation of His Royal Highness  Crown Prince Frederik.
Faerch Plast is based in Holstebro and the award winner now joins the ranks of winners that includes A.P. Møller - Mærsk, which won the award for the best CSR report by a major company and Novozymes, which was awarded a special anniversary award.

"We didn't think that the report was good enough to win an award, so we weren't even thinking along those lines, but we're proud of the recognition that our report has received," says Lars Gade Hansen, director for the Danish plastics company.

He views Faerch Plast's CSR strategy neither as a marketing strategy nor as a branding strategy.
"Our CSR report is an expression of how we individually and precisely focus on developing our business with a responsible approach to the wider society that we're part of. For many years, Faerch Plast has focused on the environment, ethics and morals, and the CSR report should be seen as a direct extension of this," explains Lars Gade Hansen
