The Italian packaging industry returns to Upakovka

Ucima will be taking part in the Russian packaging and processing show with a delegation of 10 Italian companies.

Expocentre in Moscow is ready to host the 2019 edition of Upakovka, the long-running Russian processing and packaging exhibition to be held from 29 January to 1 February.

Ucima (Italian Automatic Packaging Machinery Manufacturers’ Association) is taking part in the event with a delegation of 10 companies and an institutional stand where it will promote Italian technologies.

The area coordinated by the national trade association will host leading companies including Arol, Converting Bonardi, FT System, Ocme, R.Bardi, Ricciarelli, Robopac, Senzani Brevetti, Sotemapack and Unimac-Gherri.

The exhibition marks the second step in Ucima’s extensive international promotional programme and is expected to offer plenty of commercial opportunities in a market that is seeing double-digit growth.

In 2017, Italy exported plant worth 153.2 million euros to Russia (up 27.5% on 2016 and equivalent to 22.9% of the country’s total imports), establishing it as the second largest exporter country after Germany.

The figures for the first ten months of 2018 are encouraging, with Russia climbing to seventh place amongst Italian export markets with sales of 140.3 million euros (up 21.7% on the same period in 2017).

After Upakovka, Ucima will travel to other important exhibitions to be held in the areas of greatest interest for the Italian packaging industry: Algeria (Djazagro); South Africa (Propak Africa); Vietnam (Propak Vietnam); Egypt (Africa Food Manufacturing); Mexico (Expo Pack Guadalajara); Thailand (Propak Asia); Myanmar (Propak Myanmar); Nigeria (Propak West Africa) and the United States (Propak Las Vegas); Peru (Expoalimentaria); Iran (Pack Process Teheran); China (Swop) and India (Pacprocess India).
