Tetra Pak® today launches a new ve?rsion of Tetra Therm® Aseptic Flex, the continuous aseptic processing unit for indirect UHT treatment of dairy and other food products.

This latest version of the well-established unit features a number of innovations and improvements that serve to increase efficiency reduce cost and minimize environmental impact.  These include a sensor monitored clean-in-place (CIP) solution, IntelliCIP 2.0*, that carries out cleaning based on actual need rather than at pre-set times, thereby significantly increasing production up-time. The phases of pre-sterilization (when the aseptic area is being sterilized) and hibernation (when the operation is paused) have also been modified. This enables it to by-pass and stop the homogenizer and deaerator, resulting in an extension to the life of the piston seal in the homogenizer by as much as three times during pre-sterilization and a reduction in energy and water consumption by 80% during hibernation. In addition a closed circuit of cooling medium in the deaerator reduces the water consumption by 5,500 litres in 15,000 litre/h unit.

"Tetra Therm Aseptic Flex offers dairy producers the highest levels of UHT performance at the lowest total cost and environmental impact, backed by Tetra Pak's world-class knowledge and technical support," says Bengt Eliasson, Business Manager, Tetra Pak Dairy & Beverage Systems.

Suitable for processing products such as milk, flavoured milk, cream, yoghurt drinks, buffalo milk and formulated dairy products, as well as juice, soy milk, tea and coffee, Tetra Therm Aseptic Flex is available as a stand-alone piece of equipment, or as part of an integrated Tetra Pak line solution. The new, complete range is now available for worldwide delivery and backed by a set of guaranteed production outcomes, including energy consumption, running times and lactulose values.
