New Silicone Caps For Butter Sticks

Save Brands is introducing the world's first silicone end cap for butter sticks that not only maximizes butter preservation and freshness, but helps reduce the waste of plastic wrap, plastic bags and foil.

The latest from Save Brands, the creators of Beer Savers® and Meat Savers®, is a patented butter end cap that measures out exactly 1 Tablespoon when cut flush. Butter Savers® are made of food-safe silicone, dishwasher safe and are available in standard East Coast, West Coast and European sizes.

"The silicone cap decreases the amount of air in contact with the butter, which reduces oxidation, odors and off flavors. Butter will readily absorb flavors and odors from your refrigerator," said Jeremy McKnight, senior manager of brand experience for Save Brands. "It's an unexpected design touch that no other butter preservation system offers."

Featuring a quick pull tab, Butter Savers® help keep butter fresh longer after opening and also doubles as a measuring tool. The snug fitting end caps ensure butter is kept safe by locking refrigerator odors out. It retails for $5.99 and is available at ButterSavers.com.

"Modern cooks have a wide variety of butters to choose from," notes McKnight. "Whether it's salted, unsalted, margarines or blended butters they all come in a stick, this cap will keep butters at their freshest."

Butter Savers® were sent to the team at America's Test Kitchen and were HIGHLY RECOMMENDED in Cook's Country Magazine Dec/Jan 2014. Their testing notes said "This square silicone cap fits the end of a butter stick. Its thickness matches 1 tablespoon of butter in a standard-sized stick, aiding in both storage and usage. It alleviated the mess and guesswork of wrapping the end of a stick of butter and kept the butter from picking up refrigerator flavors for longer than a week. Plus, it was tidier than folding the paper or foil liner over the exposed end of the stick."

Save Brands is an Austin Texas-based design team, on a mission to eliminate waste and solve real-world problems in the kitchen.
