The Philadelphia region has seen major investment in growing the medical device and other high tech industries, making it the perfect location for these leading trade shows. The University City Science Center has served as an incubator of high tech businesses, many of which have become highly successful, bringing in multi-million-dollar IPOs. In 2014, local tech companies poured billions of dollars into acquisitions and have continued the trend in mergers and acquisitions of technology companies this year.

"Advanced manufacturing in the Philadelphia region has grown tremendously in recent years," said Stephen Corrick, Senior VP/Portfolio Director, UBM Canon. "We're thrilled to bring our events to serve this thriving high tech manufacturing community."

This new lineup of trade shows will include MD&M Philadelphia (Medical Design & Manufacturing), PhillyPack (packaging), Design & Manufacturing Philadelphia (product design and manufacturing for all industries), ATX Philadelphia (automation), PLASTEC Philadelphia (for the plastics industry), and Quality Expo (quality control and assurance), and will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Speakers from top companies will be presenting at the conference, including Johnson & Johnson, Secant Medical, Caterpillar, and Insight PD.
