UBM Canon's Packaging Group, which includes Packaging Digest, and Pharmaceutical & Medical Packaging News, announces the 2014 Visionary Awards competition is now open and accepting entries. This awards program is designed to pay tribute to the people in packaging who show vision and leadership in advancing their company's goals of innovation, differentiation, savings and growth.
"Ask the winners from last year's Visionary Awards competition, and you'll hear that being recognized as a packaging visionary is personally and professionally gratifying," says Lisa McTigue Pierce, Executive Editor of Packaging Digest. "I'm excited to announce that we're starting off our second year of our Visionary Awards, grateful for the opportunity to celebrate the people of packaging who guide others to greatness."
The Visionary Awards is not for new packages, technologies or processes. It is all about people. The competition accepts entries from individuals or teams involved with packaging anywhere in the world at a product manufacturer/marketer.
Categories for entry include visionaries in Packaging Production & Operations and Packaging Development & Design. Visionary Award finalists and winners will be selected based on: the significance of their accomplishments, the measurable results of their accomplishments, and their success in motivating their team, based on personal accounts/testimonials.

2014 Visionary Award finalists will be recognized and winners will be honored at a special ceremony held in conjunction with the AmeriStar Package Awards, sponsored by the Institute of Packaging Professionals. The co-joined event will take place on June 10, 2014, during UBM Canon's EastPack Conference and Exposition, June 10-12 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
