Circle Graphics Announces Acquisition of CafePress Art Division

Acquisition gives Colorado company library of over 1.5 million images; expands East Coast presence

Circle Graphics, the world's largest producer of grand-format digital graphics, announced today that it has reached definitive agreements to acquire the Art Division from CafePress Inc. The acquisition will allow Circle Graphics to enhance its Consumer Digital Printing Division by offering its retail and wholesale customers an expanded selection of curated and categorized content of more than 1.5 million images.

The transaction includes a 60,000-square-foot production facility in Raleigh, N.C. that Circle Graphics plans to expand. The company announced it intends to hire all of the approximately 180 division employees. The deal is expected to close by the end of March 2015.

"This is a significant acquisition for Circle Graphics," said Andrew Cousin, the company's CEO. "In addition to having the ability to access and deliver more compelling content, it will allow us to broaden the range of products that we can provide our retail and wholesale customers."

The acquisition also continues the expansion of the company's manufacturing presence throughout the United States. In October, Circle Graphics acquired Boston-based Mammoth Media, a grand-format printing company focused on the transit advertising market. By further expanding its manufacturing footprint and capabilities, Cousin said it will positively impact Circle Graphics' ability to improve customer service by reducing order lead times and potentially reducing shipping costs.
