New Smartsource Digital Printing Solution Simplifies At-Home Coupon Printing

Patent-Pending Technology Eases Consumer Experience without Sacrificing Security

News Marketing Canada (NMC), the premier Canadian coupon publisher, announced today that they have a new patent-pending printing technology that will make printing manufacturer coupons at home easier for consumers. The new technology, which will be implemented in July on Canada's original site for printable coupons, eliminates the need for consumers to download an external application in order to print coupons, yet still maintains the security and controls needed to maintain coupon integrity and security.

Acknowledging the need for more efficient print-at-home coupon technology, the company worked for over two years to formulate the ideal solution that benefits both consumers and manufacturers, giving manufacturing clients the print security they need without requiring an application download by the consumer. The new product is expected to result in unprecedented print success rates.

"Our goal has always been to provide the safest and easiest savings tools possible," said Henri Lellouche, SVP, SmartSource Digital. "We recognized that there was an opportunity for improvement in the way our coupons were printed, so we worked tirelessly to identify and develop a new method that would integrate the highest levels of technology and security, while making printing easier for consumers. The fact that this solution is patent-pending speaks to the innovation and commitment of our digital technology team."

The company worked with two industry-leading technologies, Adobe Reader Extensions through Adobe technology provider Datalogics, and ThreatMetrix's Trust Defender. Adobe Reader Extensions is a capability of Datalogics PDF Java Toolkit and a powerful security solution that allows consumers to seamlessly print in the cloud, significantly reducing print failures. ThreatMetrix uses digital fingerprinting technology to interrogate the machine so that coupon providers are protected from multiple download opportunities.

While the new print solution was designed for the web, News Marketing Canada has also included the ability to allow consumers to print coupons directly from their Apple mobile devices. Users will be able to select the desired coupons from the SmartSource mobile application and send them securely to any compatible printer.

"With our patent-pending print solution, we no longer have to consider sacrificing consumer satisfaction for security," said Lellouche. "This is going to be a game-changer within the industry, providing premier service to loyal SmartSource.ca savers and paramount security to our all partners and clients."

News Marketing Canada's new print technology is currently powering the savings site of one of the largest consumer packaged goods companies in Canada, with the implementation on SmartSource.ca scheduled for July 2015.
