OUTFRONT Media has renewed its contract to provide transit advertising services to Miami-Dade Transit (MDT), the largest public transit system in the state of Florida, as announced today by OUTFRONT Media's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Jeremy Male.
The contract renewal was approved by the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners and is effective today. The agreement has a five-year initial term that can be extended for up to two additional five-year periods and requires OUTFRONT to make a minimum payment of $17.25 million over the term of the agreement. Combined with its other transit relationships, including New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Washington, DC, OUTFRONT Media is North America's largest transit advertising business.

OUTFRONT Media recently unveiled its new digital platform at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show in mid-January that will be deployed in the Miami-Dade Transit system, with testing to begin later this year.
As one of the largest departments of Miami-Dade County government, Miami-Dade Transit is responsible for planning and providing public transit services in the county. MDT operates four modes of transportation: Metrorail system is 25-mile dual track, elevated rapid transit system that has 23 accessible stations and provides rail access to the Miami International Airport; Metrobus system provides service throughout Miami-Dade County, as well as some parts of Broward and Monroe counties, 365 days a year and travels to all major shopping, entertainment and cultural centers, as well as most hospitals and schools. More than 800 buses on 94 routes travel approximately 29 million miles per year. The Department's Metromover system is 4.4-mile electrically-powered people mover system that operates in and around the downtown Miami area. Finally, the Special Transportation System (STS) provides paratransit service to the disability community.
